Hi all! Just pulled a code p1646 linear O2 sensor control chip (bank 1) from my 2000 vdp. Does anyone know if this is jaguar manufacturers code for O2 sensors in bank 1 or am I looking for some kind of control chip for bank 1. If anyone can help I would appreciate it as I am lost on this one.

 

My info says a "P1646 - Fault Description: Fuel pump 2 (SC) relay malfunction". That sounds a little flakey, because your car isn't supercharged and the non-supercharged cars only have 1 fuel pump - I believe. "Possible Causes: Fuel pump relay 2 failure, Fuel pump relay 2 to ECM circuit fault, Fuel pump relay 2 coil power supply open circuit, ECM ground circuit fault (relay coil drive)". Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, but that's what it has in my Alldata ref.

 

Thanks for the reply Jimme L.Like you said, it's not supercharged . 1647 is for bank 2 so I believe it is connected to the O2 sensors. The car seems to run fine, but when the code is cleared, it's back on within 10 miles.
