Doubt I’m not the only guy who didn’t know about this. The neck extends up to easier fill. Figured out when I replaced the cracked one on my daily driver with the one from my parts car.

When I turned up with my first XJ8 in 2009 my Dad was less than impressed, he thought I’d made a terrible decision based on impulsivity. When I demonstrated this feature he said contemptuously that it was probably to stop you getting your sheepskin coat dirty!
