Wife's 99 XJ8L: Purchased in early 2004
When purchased had the headliner replaced, interior rear view mirror replaced, front and rear bumpers repainted as a condition of purchase.
All timing chains and tensioners, thermostat all under select edition warranty within 4 weeks of purchase.
I had then do the water pump at the same time, cost for part only no labor.
The three main issues with the 4.0 V8 were now taken care of.
New set of tires, 5 years ago, will replace this year good tread left rubber just got hard.
one battery in 10 years done last year.
trunk release button
I replaced front rotors, full set of pads, last year.
Oil and filter changes at regular intervals.
Transmission oil and filter last year
flushed and pressure filled the brake fluid
coolant flushed and replaced.
I replaced the plugs.

Did you do the headliner yourself? How much did it cost you?

Quite an extensive list there, and I'd love to see pictures of your ride!

As for myself, a month into ownership,
-I have spent the first two weeks addressing the throttle body positioning sensor to get it to run reliably without the intermittent failsafe.
-Then replaced some bad bulbs
-An ancient windshield wiper too
-Repaired and attempting to set my trunk lights (still a work in progress)
-Repaired the fairing for the sunroof that prevented it from closing.
-Attempted to create a stand/shelf for the third brake light, but thats just a temporary fix.
filling in the the two nicks in the steering wheel using wood putty and will just hand paint and blend the color.

Other things needing to be replaced-
-Rear view mirror, as I have the dreaded leak
-as of two days ago, the passenger side mirror after some clown sideswiped me and knocked the glass and a few internal parts out of its housing
and perhaps a control arm bushing or shock, or whatever else up front is resulting in a squeak after hitting a few bumps.
Girlfriend broke the cup-holder trying to make it a dock for her phone, so that needs to be replaced.
And many speakers don't work, and those that do need to be grounded, so pretty much need to repair or replace most if not all of the speakers.
Need to do the headliner too

Moving on to my custom touches,
-I have deleted the center and two resonators before the axle, but I now need to get new mufflers out back as the added flow and force has blown off a baffle or piece of a or several baffles at least inside creating a rattle within.
I- have also since smoked the light lights and retrofitted HID headlights and fog lights.
-I changed out driving bulbs and interior bulbs to LED's too.
-Detailed the interior and started doing the engine bay.

Also, I've also been contemplating painting the grille mesh, and window trim like the Euro XJR's but not sure if I'm ready to commit, so maybe I will just try it out with the more readily removable Plasti-dip and while I'm at it, I'll also try a coat on the wheels too.
