This is false economy in my eye because they'll have to revisit the forecourt more often. There are some areas where people are so strapped for cash they literally put £2 of petrol in which won't even get you 2 litres of fuel.

Daim: The last time I was in Germany I was in my coach and I filled up at a Shell in Berlin. I took on 700 litres of diesel, but this was not a motorway service station it was a little forecourt near my hotel that only opened during the day. The man running the place was very pleased with my purchase!
I remember the days back in the late 80ies/early 90ies as I was still living in Britain...

Our local petrol station in Lowestoft, the "Shell" on Horn Hill, had a huge choice of fuels...

- Leaded 3 star
- Leaded 4 star
- Leaded 5 star
- Unleaded 3 star
- Unleaded 4 star
- Diesel

Long ago... Back then, when the milk floats would groan around town in the morning, the dustbin truck would run on a 2-stroke Foden diesel engine and the diesel locos would emit more black smoke than a major factory on fire!

stopped using shell for a while and went to BP, the other day I needed fuel, so I went to the Murphy USA (walmart) and filled it there. Not gonna lie it was pretty good. But then using shell now. I think the Murphy certainly is in my top 3, got great MPG and it had smooth acceleration and no i'm not getting paid to advertised ( I wish ) lol.

Almost all gasoline in a given geographical area comes from the same refinery, no matter who the end retailer is. The only difference (if any) is the type and volume of additives. Even if there is a difference, it will take thousands of miles to become noticeable. BP themselves states 5,000 miles.
