What is the width of these wheels?

I am not perfectly au fait with XJ wheels but if you measure with a tape between the inner rims (what the tyre sits against) this will give you the J setting

The size should be stamped somewhere on the back of the wheel, but an educated guess would suggest 7", as almost all XJ8 wheels were 7" wide except the R's which were 8"

according to vehicle care book (jjm 10 16 12/80 ) its a 20 spoke alloy road wheel and could be either 7j x 16 or 8j x 16. so it looks like its out with the tape measure and measure between the mounting flanges.

There's a lot of information on the back of a wheel.

This is a Sepang as an example with info locations arrowed in red:

One very useful piece of information is Manufactured Date which can show if they are a concurrent set or one has been replaced at some time.
