Question window problem-jagjunky

jaguar 2000 xj long.......drivers side window won't come down (all other windows working fine)......looking at rubber around window (inside)....and suspect may have had work done to it prior to my obtaining car.....fortunately in up position all the way so no water getting in.

so of course its got to be the switch or window motor(s)....

when you press the window button for down.....makes a click and than another delayed click....but window will not move....when you hit the window switch for up....no noise at all......checked out all the security stuff to see if I accidently hit something to cause the window to stay in up position....but I think not....

looking for ideas suggestions before I take to my mechanic.....and does anyone know where I can pick up a window motor.....in the aftermarket....as I think that's what it is......

im experiencing a very similar problem myself. does your sunroof open then close automatically after a couple seconds? Do a 'hard reset' first and see if that fixes the problem.

correction.....I am experiencing the same proble re the sun roof as well.....you open to desired position and in about 7 sec...it automatically closes by itself....I will try the reset...by removing the neg cable from the battery....its worth a shot.....and report back....

From my experience the hard reset will fix the problem but only temporarily for like two days or so. Checked the battery today and it is reading as good so that's not the problem either. Stripped down the drivers door, checked switches, wiring, and computer board and all look good as well. Hope you have better luck than me but at this point I'm thinking its the BPM. Good luck man
