pirellis do have a short road life, but they have been the farmost comfortable tire i have used, and they hold the road too. i think its worth changing them more often then other tires just for the lack of road noise and their perofrmance
Hi. Is it possible that Jaguar and Pirelli have reciprocal agreements to recommend each others' products? Suggesting 40 lbs. of pressure in other brands of tyres would certainly give you a rougher ride, perhaps making you want to go back to the Pirellis and their 'superior' feel. BTW, I am on my third set and I love them. I once ran over a door hinge at 75 mph causing a blowout on an interstate late at night. I knew it happened immediately, but was able to continue driving for a few miles at lower speed until I got to the next exit. The blown-out Pirelli did not shred, but held its structure while I was in limp mode to a safe place.

I run Pirelli P-zero Assimetrico 255_40_18s on my x308 (on BBS RK oyster finish monoblocks)- changed over about a month after buying the car. It had p6000s on originally; after the switch, I:
[ol][*]REALISTICALLY don't hear any more noise than before (come on, be honest with yourselves!)[*]Found a HUGE leap in handling - even my wife, whose knowledge of cars extends to, "What does v8 mean?" can tell there is a marked difference, from thePASSENGER seat[*]Think they look WICKED cool - the profile is so much neater and the sidewall doesn't bulge (if slightly)out as the p6000s did[/ol]
The only thing I miss is that they no longer have "p zero" written in yellow ink as they did years ago (some people findthe yellowtacky... but I think itwould gowell with the yellow arden badging on my whip).
They'resafer (ok, in terms of stopping distance... they probably do make me a little heavier with my foot but that's a different story), they feel better, look better, and don't cost much more than the p6000s. In the UK, if you shop around they cost about £15 ($30) more than p6000s per tire. I think 120 bucks isn't that much to spend when you're talking about thehuge difference, imho.
Thoughts?
