Hi chaps I've now got the old cat running but it now has a engine management light up but seems to drive fine does anybody know what too look at first

Your model year and location would be nice to know. Someone may be nearby that can help.

Pull the codes thru the OBD port, your local auto parts store can do it for you if you don't have a code reader.

Post the codes here, don't try to decipher them from info on the web, Jag codes can be unique.

Once we know the diagnostic codes you are getting, we can help you chase down the source of your engine light.

It has been suggested that you include your location information, which would make it easier to help you. If in the states you can stop by almost any parts store and have the codes read, but I suspect you are not in yank territory.

But wherever you are there is no way to help without the codes, so either buy a reader, add an app to your phone and buy an interface for the obd plug or have a shop read the codes.

Then report the codes here, not the interpretation from a generic code reader.
