Default Xj sport vs Vanden plas

Should the engine sound different when you are revving up rpms? My vdp sounds a deeper than my sport. 1 year difference in age.

Are both NA? ...has a previous owner installed aftermarket mufflers perhaps? A common cheap growling noise maker (especially on XK's) is to remove the muffler and put in a straight pipe.

Not to side track the concersation, besides the color of shocks how would you tell XJ vs. XJ sport and if VDP has sport?

ive seen white stripes on springs and red striped springs. Do sport have a color?

That sir, is where Jaguar masks its rides. You kind of only have 2 choices, use your VIN or the part # off the shock. That is the one advantage I have with CATS.
Here's a C&P by me from another thread....
Another nice lookin' ride WD, congrats...
This one is for non adaptive suspension (Series I Sports)... MNC3540CA
This one is for comfort... MNC3540AA
Mounting bushings... MMD3565AA
Pair of Mounting bushings... MMD3565AAPR
I did notice that just putting the part # in brings up prices of like $250-300 ea. But if you put Bilstein in front of the part #, the price drops to around $125 ea
