Default xj8 help - trac control and non start

hey just got a 1999 jaguar xj8 4.0 it was running fine for a week then i started having traction control stability control light problems the car would not go any faster than 30 miles with the engine safe mode light on aswell ,after sitting for a while it was fine then the other day i got in and started it up and first off the start up was funny like it started without turning the key all the way then the the engine safe mode light came on it drove rough for about a 100 feet or so then stalled and lost power, power was restored but now it wont start just cranks but wont turn over and the sun roof keeps popping open as well anone got any idea what could be my problem

Welcome again Jag U R,

As you posted an Intro yesterday, I've moved this tech question from New Member Area - Intro a MUST section to the X308 section.

Have you got a scantool?

You really need to read the codes to tell what has caused the engine safe mode.
