I bought a new inside L/S door handle cable for my 01 xj8 for around $35 off of ebay.i installed it and it was no better than the one I took out,well it just so happens I had a spare R/S door,so I used the cable out of that and it worked great.i recommend going to a salvage yard and do the same,as the R/S door gets a lot less use,steve

 

Interesting, I changed mine last weekend with a new one off eBay, and it was better but still didn't feel as tight as I expected. I wonder if there is an adjustment point in there somewhere, maybe for the inside handle mount?

 

Please tell me how to get the other end of the cable out of the door latch. Thanking you in advance

 

first time I worked on my xj6 I used mirror and flash light,what a pain.on my xj8 I took out the star bolts[latch] from back of door that made it much easyer to service it,steve
