Xj8 won't start
My 1999 xj8 won't start I turn the key and it only makes a "clicking" sound The battery is fine (I had it tested) I think it has something to do with the Anti theft system but I don't know what to do to disable it (I also had the starter checked and it's fine also) HELP PLEASE xxo
If you are confident that the starter and the battery tested good and the connections are clean and tight. The there are a couple of other possibilities
1. Check fuse number 5 in the engine compartment fuse box. It feeds the starter relay. Even if it looks good just throw a new one in, just in case it is failing under load.
2. On the right hand side is a box with relays #5 is the starter relay and provides the power to the starter. pull it out and swap it with one that is the same color.
If it starts then the relay is bad and you will need to get another relay and return the swapped relay to it's original location.
