xj8l ignition module
jaguar xj8l 98 .does it have ignition module and where is it located` some forums say these models don't have ignition module but I see them for sale on exact model ``my car doesn't start when normal temperature but starts cold` has fuel but no electric to spark plug `disconnect battery and reconnects helps sometimes or I have to wait to cool down to start average waiting time 2 hours and it starts almost all the time `the hotter the day the longer it takes to start `any help?` I have 3 similar engine jags` I wanted to swap ignition module before getting into ecm and other voltage test
The AJ26 engines had a pair of ignition modules each driving 4 plug mounted coils. They were mounted on the firewall behind the engine, at least on the XK8. The AJ27 engines did not have them at least on the non-R versions. Maybe I am confusing the fact that the R carried the AJ26 for one year beyond the 8.
While you description is obviously heat related it would seem strange that both would fail at the same time. Have you checked your fuel pressure at the fuel rail during one of the non start periods? While my local auto parts stores do not have the fuel gauge in their loaner tool program some do.
