Default XJR 2001 seat out of control: how to fix

Hi, I have an XJR 2001 and the driver seat has recently gone crazy. When I get in, either it moves back/forth for a while or goes all the way back. Any idea what the problem is? How to fix?

Hi Frits, welcome to the forum and we'd love to assist, but please introduce yourself and your Jag here first.... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/ ...Its also a forum requirement to read the rules which are quick and easy to review.

For your issue, a simple reset may help temper it. Remove your battery cables off the battery and touch them together for about 30 seconds to bleed off any parasitic power, let it sit for about a minute and reapply your cables. Please get back with us on your results.

You can try disabling the automatic seat/steering retract and seeing if that helps. The knob on the side of the steering column for steering wheel position adjustment, can be turned to either "auto" or "off" try setting it in "off".

Hi Nilanium, this definitly stopped the 'spookin around' of my seat. So thanx!

Hi Highhorse, no need for this as my 'shop guy' has a fresh scanner. Today we will at least confirm issue and try to reset the software. Thx also.
