XJR Front Bump Stop
Little confusion here and trying to sort out what to order.
A few months ago I repalced my front shocks on my 01 XJR (non CATS) with new bilsteins. Really helped the ride, but I didn't realize it didn't ship with bellows or bump stops and I just tossed them in. The left side bump stop was pretty worn but I pressed on as I needed the car the next day and forgot all about it. Front left suspension is making a good clunking noise whenever it works, even if its just me pushing it up and down in the garage, so I'm guessing I ought to swap out the parts I know were bad and go from there. Problem is I'm not sure what I should be ordering.
The front suspension diagram shows a bump stop(9) and bellows (10), what I can't quite determine however is if the bellows is supposed to be an integrated unit with a cap on one end or if that cap is actually the separate bump stop shown mounted to the top of the bellows...or does the bump stop actually go inside the bellows? The diagram attached below implies that at least in the OEM world, the bump stop goes inside the bellows which has an open bottom and sealed top, but the diagram also shows that the top of the bellows looks an awful lot like the top of the bump stop, so...???
All the aftermarket stuff like URO and SKP seems to sell the bellows with a separate plastic bit that kind of looks like the bump stop and they also sell just a bump stop. OEM places like Harper do offer OEM parts, but they only use the drawings from the diagram in their parts catalogs so I honestly can't tell exactly whats what here. I'm better off with OEM parts here I'm assuming, but do I need to order both the bellows (MND2148AB) and a bump stop (MND2150AB) or is everything inclusive in the bellows part number?
