Default XJR speedo cluster

I was looking at instrument clusters on E-bay and several were listed w/o supercharger option. Can anyone tell me what this option is ??

The supercharged cars have "Supercharged" written on the tacho.
Non-supercharged cars don't, so there are different listings for the two different versions

I was shopping because I really, really hate the instrument clusters on these cars - very hard to see during the day because of the recess... and mine has apparently been replaced at some point, because it isn't supercharged tagged. I purchased a s/c unit from ebay to correct this, but it shows a lot more mileage than the one in there now This surprised me, because I'm used to electronic clusters pulling up the correct mileage. I have a bulb by the temp gauge burned out, so needed to pull the cluster anyway. Ah,...the things we do !!

In my case I kept the original ODO by keeping the small board (the one behind the message center) to the car, exchanging just the big board and gauges.
Not too much work, just be careful.

We discussed this here on the forum some moths ago, and it seems it only works for early 1998 cars, after that Jaguar probably made further security changes.
You might be lucky.
