Default XJR Tranny Oil

I plan on doing a transmission service on my 01 XJR and have a quick question about the oil. I understand that the original Mercedes part number for the transmission oil is:001-989-21-03-10. Yesterday I went to Mercedes to obtain the oil, filter, and pan gasket, and the parts guy gave me oil with a part number:001-989-68-03-10 telling me its the correct part for the 722.6 transmission. I don't know if I trust that parts guy after he made a comment that my Jag was a "boat anchor" and is worthless.

The plan is to drop the transmission pan only, so there will still be old fluid in the lines and torque converter. Will it be safe to mix whats left of the old 001-989-21-03-10 with the 001-989-68-03-10 fluid?

Thanks for the reply, I always like to change all fluids when I purchase any vehicle so I know the status of everything. Unfortunately, with the Jag its been 6 months and I still need to do the tranny, diff, and charger oil and I need to get them done.
