Greetings Fellow Eggs,

Been a while since I last posted. I replaced the plastic tensioners on my 2000 XJR a few weeks ago and the car had been running well. I had a separate TB and intake elbow bored out by Maxbore last summer, and decided to finally getting around to installing them.

I disconnected the battery, then I removed my TB and got down to the intake elbow. I got the elbow loose, but realized more needed to be removed to get it out. I decided it just wasn't worth the effort, so I re-secured the elbow and installed the bored out TB. Put it all back together, re-connected the battery, and started the car. Immediately fired, revved to 2000 rpm, then dropped to 500 rpm, coughed and sputtered, then died. I re-started it several times with the same result. I tried feathering the throttle to no avail. Thinking that the TB was the issue, I disconnected the battery and removed the TB and re-installed the old TB. Tried to re-start the car and got the same results. I feathered the throttle for a bit and eventually got a "restricted performance" message. I pulled the codes and had mis-fire on cylinders 1-8, and P1316.
