Why could not Jaguar come out with a new XJ220, modern design with Jaguar's 550-HP Superchargered V8 in a lighter body, with a quick shifting 7-speed trany?
Or maybe use more racing parts in the V8 and kick it up to 600-HP?

It's my understanding the C-X75 got greenlighted for production, however, with a turbo I4 in lieu of the turbines. There may be a limited run with the turbines though.

 

I agree. They should just basically start re-making the XJ220 since they already have the tooling. Put a modern engine and transmission in it, and that's it...

 

As far as I know Don Law Racing has all the tooling and parts for XJ220s. The CX75 will be a halo car for Jaguar and will showcase the latest technological capabilities of Jaguar. Restarting a 20 year old design won't do that.
