I've read the service and parts manuals, and searched the Internet, but cannot find anything on knock sensors for the XJ220. Unfortunately my car is in the shop so I can't physically go check, and if they used anything other than the Bosch donut I might not recognize it anyway. The Zytek ecu does not seem to have one. I know they ran the S cars up to 680bhp on the same engine and possibly even the same Garrett T03 (if it was a 60 or super 60). I can't imagine not having a provision for retarding timing, enriching mixture, or putting car into "limp home" mode. Don Law told me they got a reliable 800bhp on some of the cars. Anyone have an idea?
Took hurried look through the parts and did not see a knock sensor(s). Perhaps you may want to get a copy of the JDHT CD (make sure it works upon receipt as 2 of the 3 we have are non functional although never used until today. It is part number JHM 1182 and includes the service manual SPM 2018 and parts SPM 2020 plus some other sections on literature etc. Here is a pic of what you need.
drsolly, I believe what you are looking for is called a Lambda Sensor in the parts book part number 5767-AA it is a standard Bosch part unfortunately I dont have the Bosch number
