Default 1993 XJ No Start

Hi folks.I Loves this forum by the way.Ok here goes.I am the proud owner of a 1988 Jaguar XJ6.In the recent past I asked a few questions here and received a lot of very kind and useful feed back which I am very grateful for.
I have a new question to throw at you.I recently came across a very sweet 1993 XJ6 that is being sold with the NO START right in front.I know from experience in my 88 that sometimes she wont start without nudging the shifter forward even if she's in park.I'm sure this is a common issue with these cars?
So I ask what else could be the problem?Wires?maybe....Bad contact some where. The woman that owns the car claims one day she parked the car and it ran great, started up etc....Next day she went to start the car and lights came on but nothing happened?I guess it could be a number of things/I have owned many cars buy only 1 Jag which I adore.I would love to take a chance and buy this car.The car is a few states away so its not like I can just run down and look at it.I'm afraid that if some one looks at it,they will figure it out and I'll lose it..Funny story I bet..lol.So here is the question. Is this such a common issue that I should go ahead and grab her!For 1,250 it might be worth a shot.Clean clean car by the way.with 77k on her.Any feed back would be gratefully appreciated.Much Thanks,The Blueslover

I can't take responsibility whether you go for or walk away from that car but what you described suggests me that it's inertia swtich problem . Common , it must be considering I have heard of many similar failures turned out to be inertia switch

Blues:
Just to be clear - the car is or is not cranking when attempting to start?

Another possiblity: With mine this was a crankshaft sensor, and replacing it cured it. However there's a discussion here which suggest just giving it a clean: XJ40 • View topic - Crankshaft sensor for 2.9
