Question 94 XJ40 Seat Belt

Hi, On my 94 VDP, the plastic housing (clip end) of the driver's side seat belt anchor has cracked off and although it still works, looks nasty
Is there a way to change just the plastic or do I have to get a replacement anchor? I understand replacing the whole thing is a major pia as I believe the driver's seat has to come out?

I glued mine together using a high-powered epoxy last year when the same thing happened. It's still holding, and you cannot even notice that it was broken.

Hi Scott, Good suggestion, unfortunately pieces were missing when I bought the car. :-(

In that case my gut reaction would be to call a breakers yard to see if they couldn't pull the part off a donor car. Then again, with these plastics becoming so brittle with age, who's to say the replacement won't break in the effort to remove it? Your only chance may be swapping out the whole latch. For me, that would also be a call to the scrap yard. If one of the sponsoring parts vendors from this forum doesn't have it, call Jagbits.

cheers!
Scott

Yep, that's my next move, out to the wreckers where I got my passenger door handle last week. Thanks for the input, Scott.
