Default Advice on tyres please major problems

I went to get a new tyre for my xj40 1989 jaguar today and was told that getting hold of my 220/65 vr 390 dunlop super sport or michelin tyres was virtualy impossible.

They said they had tried everywhere and finally found one place who had the tyres but the garage felt that this price was a silly price for tyres.

They suggested to me that i should look at replacing all the wheels on my car instead as they said this could work out cheaper and I would like to know if anyone else has had problems getting hold of tyres for their car.

I would love to hear your advice

Checkout the post from luvmyjag on the XJ6 forum, dated 09 15 2009. This will give you some ideas. But Pirelli are the only manufacturer still supplying 225/65/VR 15

Default 225/60 R15 tires

Two months ago I replaced all of the tires on my '88 Vanden Plas with Falken 225/60
R15's. I purchased them on line from Discount Tire Direct http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...25&ar=60&rd=15. They also have other brands available in this size.

Just go with new tires, then it's done and you won't have to worry about it for quite a while.
