Climate controls part number #JLM1901?
Reading in the Haynes book I noticed a reference to a resistor that can be installed to one of the control panel terminals.
Anyone have details on this? My climate controls are no longer working.
Some times the leds will light up, ATUO/MANU and the buttons will also light up the leds if you press them. Other times the leds never light up.
The fan still does not come on, or the air does not change from say defrost to face or floor.
Since I need to pull this panel out, so I can service the radio. wanted to install the resistor...
Thanks

Sounds like you are talking about this component:
Console Control Panel - Parts For XJ6 (2.9, 3.2, 3.6, 4.0) from (V)500001 to (V)667828 | Jaguar Classic Parts UK
I've heard plenty about replacing a micro-switch in the control housing, but never noticed the reference to the resistor until you mentioned it. Further, I believe the micro-switch was dealing with speed control. Maybe someone has an idea about fickle lights in the assembly.
I think you need to start with this for your AC issues in order to trouble shoot what is and what is not working:

click on the AC Delanair icon for the manual and read through
I'd hate to pay $80 for a resistor, at least that's what Jagbits.com is charging for JLM1901:
Jaguar LINK LEAD - JLM1901

If I am reading this correct... The fans are isolated until the water temp reaches X temp. Not sure if they took out the thermostat or what has happened. But my temp gauge never gets above the 1/4 mark.

The flaps works, and move...
The fans do not come on, but will run if i jumper them to 12 volts.
Need to test the temp sensors, (or thermal switches)
Just seems to work at random times. Drive the car for 30 mins, and the panel will light up and the system will run... Other times the panel will stay dark..
now that i think about it. sounds like I am chasing a cold solder joint.

My car did that when I first got it - sounds like you have a stuck thermostat. Replacement would be the first thing on the menu.
If the car doesn't get up to temp you might be running in open loop and open loop = lotsa gas, lotsa carbon, lotsa condensation, lotsa muck to clean out later!
Check the thermostat!
