Today was told that my differential needed replacing: $ 800.00 labor (10 hrs at 80 per) and $ 400 for a used differential w 90 day warranty.
What about these prices?

I do all my own work so I'm really no help here. The $80.00 shop rate is pretty reasonable though. 10 Hours is probably pretty accurate though, pulling that thing looks like a real bear.

 

The labor rate is fair. But if you are buying the diferential fron a salvage yard thry may quote you a lower price fot the installation. Check it out

 

I have decided to replace it with a rebuilt differential from Coventry west for $ 645.00 instead of a used one.. Thanks
