Directional signal and sound not in sync
The directional signal sound on my '88 Vanden Plas is not in sync with the flashing of the lamps. The signal sound is almost twice as fast as the flashing of the lamps. It's no big deal, as I've gotten use to it over 21 years, but I was wondering if there is a simple fix to it. I plan to have this car the rest of my life and want to make it as perfect as possible.
The quick signaling of the directional lamps means that a bulb is out somewhere. it could be your directional lights or even a brake lamp. Have someone outside the car watch your lights as you go through the motions of trying the directional indicators, then the brake lights, etc.
The lamps are OK and there are no bulbs out. As I've mentioned, this has occured since inception of the vehicle. The lamps actually flash slower than the sound...their not in sync with each other.
Quote= actually the sounder in the dash and the flasher are 2 different components, not like other cars where the flasher makes the noise[/QUOTE]
Well that explains it. Thanks everyone for your input.
