Well it finally happened...first time in 6 years my XJ40 just stopped running right in the middle of a huge traffic jam.
Here it is...206,024 miles. Fault Code 17. It's listed as Throttle Potentiometer. While waiting for a tow truck , about 25 minutes, I checked the wiring, pulled apart the electrical connector and cleaned it with solution. She then started and ran smoothly. Got her home , shut her off and tried to start her a few minutes after that. Would not start. This morning before going to work I gave her a try and she started right up on the first turn.Took the '88 XJ40 to work instead of her. Any suggetions?? Thanks
