interior light delay timer

interior light delay timer
Yes it's me again with another question lol
I have noticed in the last few days that when I close the doors the interior lights no longer stay on.
When I first got the car, the timer seemed to work, close the door, the lights would go out a minute or so later.
I did infact have the headlight circuit board (side of the steering wheel) out at one stage because it had a broken wire, I was sure I soldered it back in the right position, I am not sure if this controls the interior lights though.
When I open the doors the interior lights do come on (all of them) and if the door is left open for a period of about two minutes, they go off. so I assume the timer is working.
But if I just open the door and then close it again, the lights come on and then go off as soon as the door closes.
The only other thing I can think of is maybe I missed a wire when refitting the door handles.
Sorry to keep bugging you all with every little problem

Red,
I don't think you missed any wiring in regard to re-installing the door handles. The delay is programmed into the Central Microprocessor. It may just be an issue of the processor, for whatever reason, fell out of programming for the delay feature. It may work again the next time you drop power from the battery, then reconnect. I saw another post on Jag-lovers just the other day by someone with the same issue.
Curious though, when did you notice the delay inoperative? I was wondering if plugging that relay into the overcharge base had any effect.

Still not having any joy getting the interior light delay to work....
Also as I stated in another post, my audible warning is also not functioning.....
I pulled out the column speaker today (as suggested) and tested it using another old speaker I had laying around and still nothing, so I do not think it is the speaker at fault here.....
Am wondering are the audible warnings (seatbelt, key in ignition, and not in park) controlled by the same unit that controls the interior light delay?
any thoughts????
On the bright side, I finally bought a new battery today, so hopefully no more flat battery

Red,
Short answer...no. The CPU is going to control the delay on the lights.
Are the courtesy lamps coming on when you open the doors?
Do the lights work when you use their respective switches?
BTW, what is your VIN, there are two variances for the interior lighting depending on VIN, below 542406 and above. Which is it?

oh ok....
answer to the first question....
yes.... all the courtesy lights including armrests and head rests come on as soon as you open any door.... and they will stay on for about 2 mins I guess if doors are left open
and all lights go out as soon as you close the doors.
answer to second question....
also yes..... if I use the console switches above the radio... the interior lights all work,
and so does the swivel map light thingy.
as for the VIN .....
