Question Interior wood trim

I have a 1990 Sovereign with severely deteriorated wood trim -- slope, front doors, vent surrounds, ashtray. Someone is offering a complete wood trim set that purports to fit XJ6s and XJ40s 1988 to 1993. Were these wood trim sets identical across these models and years?

No. The XJ6 is different from the VDP. I assume that the Sovereign and Majestic had some settle differences as well. We've also found the the end dash vents had different size pieces of wood. Some extend on 1/4" below the vent grille and some were over 1" below the grille vent. I've never found a good way to determine which length of wood except to measure them.

Quite right, roughly speaking the '93-'94 end vent trim pieces are long: but so are some earlier Vanden Plas.

The center console panel (ski slope) for '88-'89 do not have a cutout at the base of the hole for the gear selector to accomomdate the "sport" switch as fitted to '90-'94. Unless modified, this panel is not interchangable for all model years either.

Here is a site that offers bits and pieces as well as complete kits. You can check their items out as starters and then I would recommend contacting them for any specific questions you have.
