Default Misfire cured

Well, I cleaned the engine compartment yesterday with Castrol Super Clean and a garden hose. Looks much better for sure. Started and ran good afterward and this morning my wife drove it to work and all was well. When she started the car to come home, it was running rough. When I arrived to find out the problem, I found it was only running on 3 cyls, #'s 1, 5 and 6. #'s 2,3 and 4 were dead???? I removed the plug wires from the head and found water standing in the dead holes to the tops of the spark plugs. Dried the holes with paper towels and now it's back to 6 live slugs. 20 minutes diagnostic and repair time. Weird for sure, but glad to have been able to repair it for less than the cost of a roll of paper towels.

Good one.

Now you know where to NOT spray water on these engines.

The next fix will be less friendly, trust me, its a Jag, but fun will still be had.

Actually, I coated the plug wires with dielectric grease to stem the flow into the holes. I'm hoping for at least 100,000 trouble free miles from this fine ride. Who would have thought you couldn't wash a cat?
