NOOB w/question on '91 XJ6 washer nozzle
Hi all,
I'm trying to help my folks find a replacement for the washer nozzle that needs to be replaced in their '91 XJ6. I'm having a hard time locating one using various online search terms and am starting to wonder if this part is actually needed for washer fluid to be dispensed onto the windshield. If not I'll stop looking. If it IS needed, does anyone know of an alternate part solution that will work?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to check out my post.

Welcome to the forum MojoOil,
I've moved your question from X350 to XJ40 forum and deleted the other identical post from X150 forum. THIS is the place to post technical questions about your model.. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Welcome MojoOil: I had the same problem recently on my '91. Yes it is needed. It provides the appropriate spray pattern otherwise you will get a squirt gun effect. I found the quicker solution to be a trip to the local salvage yard. I just removed and bought the entire cowling for $15 and transferred the cowling to my car. Problem solved. You can search this forum for authorized vendors. Welsh might be a source for new nozzles. This is a great forum with very knowledgeable members. They have helped me a lot. Good luck, Ren

These heated washer jets are getting very hard to find. Often you’ll find them with the nozzle itself missing. They have a ball on the bottom which pops into a socket on the assembly. The plastic socket cracks over time, and the nozzles fall off and you now have a fountain.
Ive used a dab of RTV on my jets, quickly aimed them, and let the RTV cure, keeping them secure. Then the protective covers twist on top.
As stated here, the junkyard is the best place to find them. They can occasionally be found on eBay as well.

Thanks Graham for pointing me in right direction! I was a bit overwhelmed when I stumbled across this forum so my apologies for posting in the wrong forum.
I actually did manage to find the Screenwash Jet part shown in your diagram. With the holidays being a bit hectic we weren't able to get the Jag in to have it installed. As much as I was wanting to, I couldn't figure out how to do it myself and didn't want to mess anything up so I left it with my folks and they'll have their shop take care of the replacement.

Forgot to acknowledge retroren and Nick (NTL1919). Thank you both for your contributions! My folks live in Seattle so next time I'm out that way I'll have to see if there are any junkyards that have injured Jags with salvageable parts. We were able to reposition/aim the nozzle sprayers on my folks Jag a bit more so that the washer fluid hit the windshield better.
Here's the part I was able to find on eBay. I honestly don't see how this tiny thing will make that much of a difference but I'm hoping it will .
