Cool 1983 XJ6 4.2 Fuel System Experiment

I know that this has fire hazard written all over it, but consider this.

gas tanks to changeover valve
valve to one way valve
valve to Y bracket connecting fuel return
Another Y bracket to 2 filters
filters to pump
pump forward

My Greatest concern is fuel rushing back oversupplying the fuel pump while putting vacuum on the relief regulator at the engine.

I am Also thinking put an over-sized return pipe in the trunk to mimic the original interior monstrosity in the back left seat. D*2 A*4

Another concern, normally the fuel pump is pushing against the mass of a fuel pump...???overpressure??? but then i'd have to have 3 fuel filters!!!
The whole point of this is to have the tanks filtered before the pump.

I still have a pressure gauge

Oh and my main return and tank exchange system has been bypassed and long forgotten.

It works. I left out the non return valve to prevent overpressure. I can actually tell the delay in system pressure when accelerating, but it works. Not too bad.

I don't think it is best for performance, but no serious issues.
