so my jags dash lights arent working, the blinkers, warning lightds and everything else work though. there is also a couple wires hanging under the dash that have been unplugged that i dont know what they go too

 

What are the wire colors? They might go to the dimmer rheostat which on an '82 was located in front of the driver's right knee on the under-dash trim panel...as I recall

purple w/ black stripe
black

red w/ blue stripe
red with white stripe

also only the red wires have female connectors on the ends

 

also what does the dimmer rheostat look like?

 

I'll try to figure these out when I have time





These are for the panel lights. Red/blue is voltage into the rheostat; red/white is outout to all the lamps.

Join 'em together and see if the lights come to life. In so doing you have bypassed the rheostat....which is probbaly juat as well because the rheostat often makes the too-dim panel lights even more dim

sweet my dash lights work now! thanks a lot Doug! also a full tune up solved my ticking noise almost entierly.
