Default '85 Vanden Plas Wiring Question

I pulled my right front door trim panel (without disconnecting battery -- my bad) to fix a non existent problem, and when I put things together the two front "step/puddle" lights stopped working. The lights in the rear doors still work when any door is opened, but both right and left front door lights do not. All other electrical items (power mirrors, map light, windows) still work. All my schematics show only two lights operated by door switches, and no separate fuses -- suspect my Vanden Plas is wired differently than the regular XJ6 and hope there may be a separate fuse for the two front door lights???? Does anyone know if there is a fuse in this circuit or what else the problem might be?

There are a couple iterations of the door and interior lighting circuits.

In your case you'll probably find the that door lights for the front doors are on fuse #17 in the "Aux" fuse panel...the RH fuse box.

All other door lights and interior lights are on fuse #3 in the "main" fuse panel

I checked the 5th fuse in the Aux fuse box and, sure enough, it is blown!! Will pick up a new one this morning and replace when I'm done "fixing" my other problems. Thank you so much for the expert advise -- you guys who know these beautiful cars and help us neophytes are awesome (an adjective not often used by this 76 year old).

When buying new fuses you'll need this conversion chart, as the USA rating system is different

Fuse Conversion Chart
