Everythin appears to be in order, in fact it was running before I turned it off and now it wont start. The oil light is on on the dash, does this prevent the car from starting? I'm sure there is oil. It's like the starter isn't firing,

Assuming it is an automatic, if there is a "click " under the bonnet, sorry, hood, it could be the start inhibitor switch mounted at the gearcable input on the 'box needs adjustment.
