85 XJ6 Rear Window
85 XJ6 Rear Window:My right rear window will not go down (or up) using either front or rear console toggle switch. The other 3 window work fine. Where should I look for the problem?
I had the exact same problem and was pointed to the rocker switches by one of the experts on the Forum.
The female loop terminals, in the switch that receive the wiring terminal, can relax/expand over time and lose contact with the wiring terminals. This can happen in any of the switches that are in the same-side circuits and it will affect the others. Separate the wire/switch connector and using a small shop "pick" or very small screwdriver between the plastic switch housing and the brass "ring" that contacts the stud of the wire terminal and tweek it a little. Just to tighten the fit a little. Clean any corrosion off both parts. Hopefully your window will go up and down.

it's usually the up-down switch that needs cleaning inside it, but strange that both the front and rear switches are inoperable.
I would check the wiring Plug that connects to the back of the front switch, it is easy to connect it upside down or off center, it may even have become disconnected entirely which would render the rear switch inoperable I think.
to check that, you can try removing the one phillips screw at the top center of the console panel, above the top center "valet" switch, and try pulling the panel out to see the black connectors on the back of each switch.
however, the two wires connected to the rear of the valet switch will make it very difficult to pull the panel out as the valet switch interferes with the metal tab of the screw that was removed. So you need to pull the panel OUT and at the same time you need to push the panel DOWN to clear the screw tab.

JOSE and others: thanks for suggestion to try the console rockers switches. I will give it a shot and let you know.
