'87 XJ6 Ignition "locked"
Key goes in but ignition will not budge. And the steering wheel is not "locked". Usually a small jiggle of the steering wheel and the ignition turns fine, but not now. Any thoughts fellow Jag lovers?
Bugga.
I suggest a SMALL pray of Silicon Spray into the key slot. Dont drown it, just a quick squirt.
Let it alone, about 1 beers worth.
Try the key again, and slowly/carefully work it clockwise and Arti-clockwise,
Another spray, another beer.
Keep at it SLOWLY, ya dont want to snap that key off, that will cost ya heaps.
The tumblers are jammed up from maybe NO lube, or WD40 etc type sprays, as they evaporate and leave a gooey sticky mess, that attracts dust over time, and the issue you have creeps up.
I Silicon all mine, door, boot included, annually.
