Default 87 XJ6 in New Orleans. Need recommendations please.

I was just gifted an all original 87 XJ6 with 80,000 miles. Its in great shape but needs a few minor issues fixed. so can someone recommend a good mechanic and upholstery place? The stitching is coming out of the seats so I need to get them recovered and I would like to get all the fluids changes and a tune up. Thank you

Does it run well? I see no rust around the windscreen in the pic

If the leather isn't dried out too bad, you may be able to just repair the seat stitching or replace a couple panels. Full seat covers gets expensive quick.
Have your mechanic check the fuel tanks conditions first, common reason for being on a trailer.

Just look up an auto "trim" shop in your city. Remove the covers and take them to them. They can restitch with better thread. I did that decades ago with my 56 VW bug.

It runs great with no rust. The fuel tanks are in great shape other than the sending unit went out. I had it on a trailer to bring it to Louisiana from Tennessee. The seats feel ok but they came apart at the stitching on all seats, front and back.

it's normal for the old stitching to snap when you start to sit on it. Leave that for last, fix everything else first that needs fixing, then remove the seats one by one to restitch.

Download the Service Manual here, go to the top of the threads where it says "Sticky XJ6 & XJ12 'HOW TO' quick links".

what fluids? Oil Y filter? Coolant? That's all you need to change, otherwise check the transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, you don't have to change those right away.

I was just thinking oil and coolant. Thanks for the seat advice. I have every few things to fix on this and the seat are the worst.
