Really nice work. Cars did just fine sans "resonators", aka "rear mufflers".
Mine has a pair of smallish glass packs welded in a by a PO! Sounded fine as a 4.2. Even better with the LT1!
As the manifold has two outlets, that would seem to be perfect for a true
dual system. No "Y" pipe needed.
Back in the day, six banger cars with true duals droned a bit and "back rapped". Kids of the day liked that.
My 69 Toyota FJ40 4x4 with a 258 CI six sounded great on 6 into 1 headers and a single pipe with a largish glass pack, With other tinkering, it ran great as well. Mix and match upped the CR!!! Ooops, premium fuel needed...

All the sites I look at quote the same exhausts, so I'm getting a bit worried!!!!
The rear suspension is identical so what's different about the chassis that causes this problem?
I've got a xj6 coupe and a stainless steel exhaust from a four door xj6 but it will be a while before I can compare them.

Yes I thought that, also I read that the XJC was used as a basis for the XJS.
I think my main problem was that the exhausts are further apart on the XJS where they go under the boot, but even allowing for that they were just completely wrong, even the pick ups on the suspension frame where completely different and in a different place. Having said that I cannot see why the Series 1 should be any different as its the same floor pan ?

Hope you had a good time in Florida.
Here is that photo of the oil pressure gauge, switch finally. It fits on the block kind of funky but it fits, Got the front seat cushion covers back from Houston.Fits pretty good, So I took the back seat all apart to have those done. Photo's to you when done. I think I'm going to move the passenger seat back a bit to.
Best I could do while handling camera with one hand

Wider and lighter than orig too. I put 225-60-16's on them. I will say, the difference in ride quality with shorter sidewalls is immediately noticeable, but you soon forget with the improvement in handling.

Hope you have sorted your XJC?
I am currently thinking about getting an old 1976 XJC from abroad as I found a body for 2500£, however this car doesn’t have engine neither gearbox.
Based on your experience, could you kindly advise what car should I buy for a donor?
Unfortunately I am not a mechanic and I won’t be able to fitnit myself so I will need to find someone with skills who could support (ofcourse for a money).
