Default Busted!!

Nix and I were going to town, and as I had Plenty of time I was not flying at my usual low altitude and high velocity, but was just enjoying the drive across the newly green and blooming prairie dotted with grazing cattle.

Obviously, as I was driving I couldn't get a picture so I'll paste in this one instead.

Behind me was a car (high end Nissan cookie cutter sedan, pale gold) creeping up in the other lane, passing Veerry slloowwllyy until we were abreast where he lingered for several seconds.

I turned, smiled and waved - and he hit the gas and sped away!

BUSTED!!

It's Such a hoot to drive a Jaguar!

I would creep up on that car aswell. Once got overtaken by a car while I was already speeding. He had rare chrome pieces that some people don't even realize belong on the car (behind the rear doors) My chrome is complete

Well done Elinor.

Got lots of that with the XJ-S.

Thanks, Guys,
Nix has all the chrome she came to me with. In fact, everything external is Exactly how I got her. I Love black cars, and there are many in this area, but I haven't seen any quite so BLACK as she is.

I saw an XJ-S in town late last year that I wouldn't mind owning. It was BLACK of course, but had different tail lights; not the usual quarter-round jobs, but long across most of the rear, and it was a Convertible!

I don't know if it was a V12, it was ahead of me at a light in the turn lane and I've never seen it again. It looked like this:

Made my little heart go pitty-pat, it did!

I have to admit my heart sank when I saw the title and author!!!

Good to know it was something pleasant. The guy in the japanese car was probably admiring Nix and thinking there's a nice old car...Whoa!!

Thank you, anjum, sorry for the fright.

Maybe "Busted" has a different meaning on your side of The Pond, but in Merca the current meaning is merely that you've been caught. In this case, as you say, drooling over a nice old car, still moving right along on the open road.

My initial thought, was that you had been caught speeding!

Even reading your post, I was expecting the punch line to be an unmarked police car, but gladly not!

Thank you, Andrew,
I would like to say that I've perfected the art of watching other traffic behavior and extrapolating Enforcement's presence and position from that behavior, but it's still a work in progress.

At this point I can only claim a 65% success rate (actually it's a little higher than that but I don't want to be arrogant). The rest of the time it's pure dumb luck.
