1983 XJ6 I rebuilt the windshield wiper switch as I was shown in an earlier answer and I have intermittent, stop, and slow but no fast. While the switch was apart I plugged it into the harness and by moving the circuit board in and out could activate everything but fast. In that position nothing happened. I looked on-line for a wiring diagram so I could trace the two leads that correspond to that position on the circuit card but could not find one.

Could the problem with fast setting not be the switch at all but the fast speed on the motor itself? Similar to when the heater blower resister fails and the fan will only work on one or two settings? Is there anything between the switch and the motor which could have failed?

Life in the slow lane.

Mike
