dash lights
Hello people
I finally got my xjc on the road and am now working my way through a long list of niggles. Starting here
1. Dash lights not working (the warning lights in centre of gauges do work if a little dim)
2. All of gauges work except for fuel gauge (it neither works on either tank) how can I test the gauge or is a fuse a possibility?
All information much appreciated.

Nothing quite like it, is there, Anfield. "Niggles." That's a good term.
One of my fuel gauges doesn't work so I'll be interested in the advice you receive for that. It's not as critical for me because the PO had the tanks tied together and did away with the valve, but it would still be nice to know the level of BOTH tanks, because it draws more from one than the other.

not familiar with the XJ-C, but basically it will come down to electricity, whether Ground/Earth or Positive/Hot.
the place to start is at the fuses, sometimes they LOOK fine but they are blown, test them for continuity.
if fuses are good, then comes the wiring checks.
