Default Electric Power Steering?

Has anyone seen an electric power steering conversion, using a stock XJ steering column?
I would like to convert my hydraulic steering pump to electric.

No, but certainly an interesting idea. Not necessarily new as I think one or more modern cars do it that way. which, I dunno.

However done, it will need a larger battery, larger alternator and bigger wiring!!

Method 1: Motor drives the rack as directed by a control on the Jaguar steering column.

Method 2. The GM/Jaguar or most any other hydraulic pump driven by an electric motor.

Method 3. Electric stepper motors controlled by seitching on the jaguar steering column.

Why???
