Post Electrical Problems, HELP!

I own a Jaguar XJ6 1995 and I recently got a new battery just a few days ago and the dashboard on the battery indicator shows that the battery is almost dead and its been a few days and it keeps going down, Alternator is new too as I have changed that too, Any fixes?

Jorge:

I am not sure you are on the right list, so m comments are generic
rather than model specific.

1. Is the battery really dead or is the dash guage merely wrong?

2. Does the car crank up and run normally "??

3. Use a VOM to track the "real story".

4. I made a patch cord for my VOM. Connects the VOM to the car via the cigar lighter. I can read volts in real time under various load and RPM scenarios.

Ohers can and will offer more.

Welcome, first and foremost.

Your 1995 XJ6 is known as an X300 in Jag talk, quite confusing at first.

I suggest a quickie repost in that section for answers that will be related to that cars systems. The cars in here are waaaaay different.

Carls suggestions are spot on, some very quiet, consistent, systematic, diagnosis is required. Rushing at it will achieve nothing.
