Engine Number

Where do I find the engine serial number??

The engine number is on the left side of the engine where the bell housing bolts on, if you look down past the transmission dipstick you will see it. In the 4th photo where my extendable magnet is pointing.

Engine serial

That's what I thought. There seems to be two numbers there though

The 8L number is the engine number

Any idea where the gearbox number is?

Never had the need to go there yet.

The inclusion of the “L” is for long stud engine.
All others are what is known as short stud.
