Federal Bumpers
I love my XJ6 Series 3, but I think that the US Federal regulations for impact absortion in the bumpers really ruined the car.
Has anyone here tried to convert from the US Federal-imposed High-Impact Bumpers to the much more elegant Low-Impact Eurpoean/British bumpers?

I know its been done. You ight try searching the Jag-lovers.org archives
One thing I never tried, but always wanted to, was to simply collapse the energy absorbers and push the bumpers in 2-3".
Not quite the same as the actual Euro bumpers but it might be a big improvement for zero dollars and not-too-much work
