Default Fuel pumps

I have an early 1976 xj6 that was carbureted. I would like to know if their is a fuse, or how I can prevent the fuel pumps from running for some troubleshooting procedures. I need to turn the key to start, but I don't want the pump to energize.

Thanks,

RAM

On the passenger side door there is a shock sensor. Trip it with a jolt and it will stop the fuel pump.
