head light bulb change (1993 xj6, 6 cylinder)
I noticed that my passenger headlight was not working, so I put a new one in. Before doing so, I looked at the old one and it seemed fine. When I put the new one in, it made no difference. The passenger side is still dead. Fuses are fine. A relay? It would have to have independent relays. My manual shows one an "inhibit relay". How could it only effect one lamp? Why didn't they put a back door for replacing the lamp? Thanks, Frank
I found my owners manual and I found the back panel. I thought it had one when I put new bulbs in last time. The lamps have a connector on each side behind the lamps mounted to the body. I took the one behind the dead lamp and check it, it looks fine. I don't know what it is connecting to, so I will try to find out in my shop manual. Maybe it died. All I know is that I'm not getting power to that lamp.
Your major problem is you've posted in the wrong section.
I know it's confusing when they stick an Xj6 badge on the trunk, but your car is really an Xj40. You'll find more help here:
