Default Headlight mains relay C38616

I ordered a headlamp mains relay #C38616 for a 1977 series 2 XJ6C from a particular vendor because the catalog page showed the correct part, this:

When I just opened the box this AM, I found this. By my count I'm missing terminals. Vendor says it works; I say bollocks. Before I get under the bonnet in a below freezing garage, Advice?

Relay in pic above is STANDARD MOTOR LR35, available from your Auto parts store. $35.00
Works like a charm.

Looks to me like the relay in the first pic (7 terminals) has twin terminals/posts for 56D and 56A....where the replacement (5 terminals) doesn't. If I'm correct then the 5-terminal relay is functionally the same but you'd need to double-up the wires due to two fewer terminals. You could splice the wires, or buy a little adapter, or get a 7-terminal relay.

Cheers
DD
