Default hi xj6 drivers

hello fellow xj6 drivers .

i just thought id leave a little message xplaining why i joined this forum beyond the obvious

since a very young age ive been mad on jaguars i remember photos on the walls of the house that my dad would have up hoping one day hed be able to go out there and get one . sadly my dad passed away before he had the chance at the age of 56!. so since then along with my love of jaguars and with something to do in memory of my old man it was always going to be a jaguar that id get xj6 model 1995-1997 as i beleive these where the best years from reveiws and lots of reading up . right now i live now in the UK and im due to be taking my licence test in a few months. wich ive been told ill pass with ease . and i know that without been rich theres no way im going to be able to own a jaguar xj6 here with insurance and fuel cost etc but its come up recently that there has been a job offer for me and the wife in OHIO USA and we always thought about moving there so it comes at a good time for us. now i know over there things are completely different and a jaguar as a first car there would be more than acceptable. so that is my intentions. so i guess i just came on here to say hi and to get more information and even talk to any fellow USA citizens to see if my theory of having such a car over would be right with most american motors been so big engine wise. thanks everyone .

Hey jag_dan, Cyril here. My daily driver in the winter is a '91' SJ6. In the summer it's my Virago MC weather permitting. I live in the central OH area. Jags aren't cheap around here. I bought mine in Philadelphia PA (about 400 miles from here) With internet access you can shop the country. There is an independent certified mechanic (Ohio-Jagtech) here that works on my cat, with excellent results at a fair price.

Hey Dan,

Jags are plentiful here in the States. No, they're not cheap, but it also depends on what you want and where you look. I got my 76 XJ12 for about $2500...I traded a run-down Chevy Suburban and a flatbed trailer for it.

Like cyril said, with the internet, possibilities are endless. Also, when you look for your Jag, make sure to check out criagslist.com in your area, as well as newspapers, dealerships, etc.

Welcome to the forums, and welcome (soon) to the USA.

Yea you can find some great deals on the internet. I'm buying a '96 XJ6 tomorrow morning for $2300 with 114,000 miles. Runs excellent.

A "good" set metrics is a must. You can get a full set of shop manuals on E-Bay (on disc) for about $10. If your anything like me, it'll be a labor of love. Enjoy your kitty.

Hi, I have a 87 XJ6 and a 88 XJS and I buy alot of my parts from Welsh Enterprises in Ohio, just ask for John Koish, tell him Donna from Canada recommended him, he's good at what he does and knows his stuff.
